About the Film

“Tearing Down the Tent” is a circus documentary featuring the Cole Bros. Circus. Producer and director Michael Knox traveled with the circus as a child and as an adult returns to the circus with his friend, Jamie Reel.

During a week in Wilmington, N.C., Reel works for the circus, helping with the camels, riding an elephant, working as a clown and standing in the Moto-Globe of Death.

The movie features music from North Carolina bands, Bombadil, Sirius B and the Hellblinki Sextet.

Just got copies of, "Tearing Down the Tent" on DVD

Just received my first batch of DVDs for, "Tearing Down the Tent" so now have available for screenings. With the screenings I have lined up in Hillsborough, Greensboro, Black Mountain and looking to set up other screenings, it will be good to have these in case anyone wants a copy during the screenings. It's been a long time in the making, but great to actually have copies of my first movie available on Amazon.com and going to all these screenings. DVDs are also available at Create Space…See More

Good to go! Just signed off on the proof copy of the, "Tearing Down the Tent" DVD

After reviewing the print materials and watching the proof copy of the DVD for Amazon.com I have just signed off on the proof copy. Ryan Haggerty did a great job designing the box art and the cover of the DVD. James Nix, who will be editing my next project, the Blue Ridge Rollergirls documentary, "Kill as a Family'" set up the DVD menu and was able to get everything sent off to Amazon.com All in all, I am happy with the finished product, and a first feature film am really glad to have it under…See More

Marketing, "Tearing Down the Tent'" to libraries

We are currently marketing, "Tearing Down the Tent," to education outlets, reaching out to public libraries about purchasing copies to add to their DVD collections. So far we have reached out the North Carolina Library Association, as well as associations for Florida, Georgia and South Carolina.
